| STAMFORD STREET RAILROAD CAR, c. 1890. The first horse car run in Stamford was in 1887 and the fare was five cents. The original company, the Stamford Horse Railroad, was purchased by The Stamford Street Railroad in 1888. The system was electrified in 1894. |
